About this course

Menopause brings real changes to your body, and the internet is full of diets, supplements and promises that claim to fix them. This course cuts through the noise. It shows you how to eat well through perimenopause, menopause and the years after, using US guidance such as the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, 2025–2030 and advice from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the FDA, without fads, expensive products or strict rules.

Across nine modules you will build a balanced menopause plate, get enough protein, fiber, calcium and vitamin D, look after your heart, manage weight and energy in a steady way, and find out how food and drink relate to hot flashes, sleep and mood. You will learn to shop and read labels quickly, plan a week of meals, and prepare for a useful conversation with your doctor.

It is for women in their 40s, 50s and 60s, and anyone supporting them. Eight practical tools, including a symptom and food diary, a plate guide, a 7-day meal planner, a calcium checker, a doctor prep sheet and a 90-day plan, help you put it all into practice.

Questions about this course

Is there a special diet that treats menopause symptoms?

No. No diet or food has been shown to treat menopause symptoms in the way that medical treatments can. This course shows you how to eat well for your bones, heart, weight and energy, and how to spot your own possible triggers for hot flashes. If symptoms are affecting your life, talk to your doctor about your options.

Will this course help me lose weight?

It shows you a steady, realistic approach to managing your weight in midlife, based on US guidance, such as regular balanced meals, protein, fiber, strength activity and better sleep. It does not promise a set amount of weight loss. If your BMI is 40 or more, or you have diabetes or another condition, see your doctor first.

Does this course cover HRT?

This course is about nutrition. It explains that HRT and other treatments are options to discuss with your doctor and helps you prepare for that conversation, but it does not advise you to start, stop or change any treatment.

Do I need to take supplements?

For most healthy women, a balanced diet covers most nutrients, and the Dietary Guidelines say needs should be met mainly from food. Vitamin D and calcium are the two that most often come up: the recommended amounts are 600 IU of vitamin D a day up to age 70 (800 IU over 70) and 1,000 to 1,200 mg of calcium. Whether you need a supplement is a question for your doctor or pharmacist.
