Lost words, forgotten names, walking into rooms and wondering why: brain fog is one of the most common and least talked-about symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. This course explains why it happens, how sleep, hot flushes, stress and mood add to it, and how to tell everyday lapses from memory changes your GP should know about.
You will track your focus for four weeks to find your own patterns, set up simple memory systems that take the load off your brain, and learn techniques for lost words and lost threads. You will look at everyday habits around meals, drinks, movement and sleep, plan your working day around your clearest hours, and prepare a list of workplace adjustments to discuss with your manager.
It is for women in perimenopause or menopause, and anyone supporting them. It is general education to help you cope day to day and have a better-informed conversation with your GP. It does not diagnose memory problems or recommend any treatment.
Learn what brain fog is, why it is common in perimenopause and menopause, and how to tell everyday forgetfulness from changes your GP should know about.

Menopause Brain Fog and Memory, 6 modules, completed 6 October 2026
Yes. The HSE lists problems with memory and concentration among the common symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. It is not a sign that you are less capable, and for many women it eases after the menopause transition. This course helps you understand it and cope day to day.
Everyday lapses, such as forgetting a name and remembering it later, are common with brain fog, stress and tiredness. Memory problems that are getting steadily worse, getting lost in familiar places, struggling with everyday tasks, or others being worried are reasons to see your GP. The course includes a red-flag checker to help you decide.
No. The course explains that the HSE describes options your GP can discuss, including HRT and CBT for some symptoms, so you can have a better-informed conversation. Whether any treatment is right for you is a decision for you and your GP.
No food, diet or supplement has been shown to treat menopause brain fog. The course looks at regular meals, drinks, caffeine and alcohol in line with Irish guidance because they affect energy, focus and sleep. Check with your pharmacist or GP before taking any supplement.
6 modules with 17 short lessons (about 1 hour 50 minutes in total) and 4 interactive tools, including the Focus and brain fog tracker, Memory tools sheet and Work adjustments list.
