Relationship courses for couples who want to work as a team

Practical courses on communication, conflict, trust and family boundaries, with check-in prompts, scripts and plans you can use together.

  • 5 courses
  • Tools in every course
  • Certificate included

Every couple disagrees. What matters more is how you talk, how you handle arguments and how you repair things afterwards. Small, regular habits, such as a weekly check-in, listening without interrupting and saying thank you, often make more difference than big gestures.

Our relationship courses focus on those everyday skills: communicating clearly, cooling down before a row escalates, fair-argument rules, rebuilding trust after it has been broken, and agreeing boundaries with in-laws. Each course comes with tools you fill in together, from check-in prompts to repair scripts and agreements.

The courses are for couples in ordinary difficulties. They are not couples counselling and are not suitable where there is abuse or control in a relationship. If you are afraid of your partner, put your safety first and get specialist help.

Choosing a relationship course

What the relationship tools do

  • Relationship health check and communication style checker: see where you are now, together.
  • Weekly check-in prompts: a short structured conversation to keep small issues small.
  • Conflict cool-down plan and fair-argument rules card: agreed steps for when things start to heat up.
  • Repair scripts and transparency agreement: wording for making up and for rebuilding trust.
  • Boundary planner and couple agreement: decide together what you will and will not accept from family.

When it is more than ordinary conflict

Disagreements are normal. These are not:

  • being hit, pushed, threatened or forced into anything
  • being controlled: your money, phone, friends or movements checked or restricted
  • feeling afraid of your partner's reaction most of the time

If you are in danger, call 112 or 999. Your GP can help you find specialist support confidentially. If you feel overwhelmed or are thinking about harming yourself, call Samaritans free on 116 123 or text HELLO to 50808.

Relationship courses: your questions

Do we both need to take the course?

It works best together, but one partner can start alone and share the tools. Many exercises are designed to be filled in side by side.

Is this the same as couples counselling?

No. The courses teach everyday skills. Counselling is delivered by a trained professional who can work with your particular situation, and the courses explain when that might help.

Are the courses only for married couples?

No. They suit any couple in a committed relationship, married or not.

Can a course help after an affair?

Rebuilding Trust covers the first weeks, accountability, transparency and handling triggers. It also has a checker to help you decide whether to seek counselling.

What if my partner will not take part?

You can still use the communication and cool-down tools on your own. Changing how you respond often changes the conversation.

Is it safe to use these tools if there is abuse?

No. Conflict resolution tools are not designed for relationships with abuse or control, and can put you at more risk. Contact your GP or call 112 or 999 if you are in danger.
