Falling estrogen around menopause speeds up bone loss, and muscle slowly fades in midlife unless you use it. Strength training is one of the most useful habits you can build now, and it is never too late to start.
This course shows you how to start safely and keep going. You will check whether you should speak to your doctor or a physical therapist first, learn pelvic-floor-friendly lifting, and master 17 moves that load your legs, hips, back and arms, including options for low bone density. A two-session 8-week plan builds up step by step, with simple ways to adapt on hot-flash, poor-sleep or achy days.
It is for women in perimenopause, menopause and the years after, whether you have never lifted a weight or are returning after a break. You will also learn how protein, calcium and vitamin D support your training, and how to prepare for a useful conversation with your doctor about your bones.
Understand what happens to muscle and bone in midlife, what the US guidelines ask of you, and which myths are worth letting go of.

No. It is written for complete beginners. Weeks 1 and 2 use body weight and very light weights so you can learn each move and the pelvic-floor-friendly breathing before adding any load.
Many people with osteoporosis can and should strength train, but the right moves depend on your bones and any fractures. Please speak to your doctor or a physical therapist first, and follow the version of the plan they agree with you.
This course does not promise any change in weight or symptoms. Strength training helps you keep and build muscle, supports your bones and makes daily life easier. For symptoms that affect your life, talk to your doctor about all your options.
