Self-care and confidence courses that make room for you

Practical courses on the everyday side of self-care: saying no, asking for help and protecting your time, with scripts you can use word for word.

  • 1 course
  • Tools in every course
  • Certificate included

Self-care is often marketed as bubble baths and shopping. In practice it is more ordinary: getting enough rest, saying no when your week is already full, asking for help, and making time for the people and activities that matter to you. Small, repeated steps usually work better than one big change.

Our self-care courses are hands-on. The boundaries course helps you map where your limits are being crossed in six areas of life (time, energy, work, money, personal space and your phone), then practice small steps with ready-made scripts for family, friends, coworkers and managers. It is written for people who find themselves saying yes when they want to say no, and feeling resentful or guilty afterward.

These courses are general education, not counseling. If low mood, anxiety or stress has been building for weeks, your primary care provider can talk you through options, including referral to a licensed therapist.

Where to begin

Learning to Set Boundaries is the place to start if you find it hard to say no, often feel overcommitted, or feel guilty after turning people down. Further courses on self-confidence, body confidence, procrastination and personal goal setting are planned and will be listed here as they open.

Choose one small boundary to practice this week, such as not answering work messages after a set time. Writing it down makes it easier to stick to.

What the self-care tools do

  • People-pleasing self-check: a private set of questions about where saying yes is costing you.
  • Boundary map: your values, limits and needs across the six areas, in one view.
  • Saying-no scripts: words for buying time, saying yes with limits and handling pushback.
  • Practice tracker: log each boundary you try and how confident you felt, so progress is easy to see.

When to get support

If you are in danger, call 911.

If a partner or family member is controlling, threatening or hurting you, that is not an ordinary boundary problem. A clinician you trust can put you in touch with local support, and 911 is there in an emergency.

When things feel unbearable, or thoughts of suicide come up, reach the 988 Lifeline by phone or text. Low mood or anxiety that has lasted two weeks or longer is worth raising with your doctor.

Self-care courses: your questions

Isn't setting boundaries selfish?

No. A boundary is about what you will and will not do, not about controlling anyone else. Clear, kind limits often make relationships easier, because people know where they stand.

Is the boundaries course a type of therapy?

No. It is general education with practical exercises. If you want to explore deeper patterns, a licensed counselor or therapist can help, and your primary care provider can suggest where to start.

Can I use the scripts with my boss or coworkers?

Yes. Several scripts are written for work, such as buying time before agreeing to extra projects. For formal workplace problems, check your company's HR policies.

What if someone gets angry when I say no?

The course covers ordinary pushback and guilt. Threats, intimidation or punishment for having limits are different and can be signs of abuse; the help box on this page explains where to turn.

How long does the boundaries course take?

About 105 minutes in total, in short lessons. Most of the change happens between lessons, as you practice one small step at a time.
