About this course

Toddlers are busy, growing fast and often picky, and the healthy eating rules for adults do not quite fit them. This course explains, in plain language, what children aged 1 to 4 need from food and drink, based on Health Canada advice and Canada's Food Guide.

You will learn how much toddlers really eat, how to build a day of three meals and two snacks, which milks and drinks to choose, how to get enough iron and calcium, and what Health Canada's vitamin D advice means for your family. You will also find practical ways to widen the range of foods your child accepts and keep mealtimes calm and safe.

It is for parents, grandparents and caregivers of toddlers who want clear, practical guidance. Four tools come with it: a toddler portion guide, a daily meals and snacks planner, a vitamin D checklist and a two-week food variety tracker.
