Our Canadian courses use the guidance you will hear from your family doctor, nurse practitioner, midwife or public health nurse:
Food label lessons teach the Nutrition Facts table, % Daily Value and the front-of-package "High in" symbol for saturated fat, sugars and sodium, required on qualifying prepackaged foods since January 1, 2026. Measurements are metric.
Where services differ between provinces and territories, such as health lines and parenting programs, the lesson says so and points you to your local service. Each course page lists who the course suits, what to check with a health professional first and the official sources it is based on.
If you want to eat better in general, start with Understanding Canada's Food Guide. If you have a specific goal, such as starting solids, pregnancy or menopause, choose that topic and start with its Foundation or Focused course.
Canada's Food Guide (2019) uses plate proportions rather than daily serving counts: half your plate vegetables and fruits, a quarter whole grain foods and a quarter protein foods, with water as your drink of choice. Our courses teach the plate method, and any portion guides in the tools are planning aids, not official Health Canada servings.
