About this course

Hot flashes in meetings, broken sleep before early shifts, brain fog in a job you know inside out: perimenopause and menopause often arrive at the busiest point of a working life. Many women struggle on in silence, or think about cutting their hours or leaving, without knowing what support is available.

This practical course helps you understand your symptoms, track how they affect your working day, and try simple strategies for heat, energy and focus. It explains your rights at work in plain English, including human rights laws and the duty to accommodate, in general terms, and walks you through choosing accommodations, talking to your manager and putting your request in writing.

It is for women in any job, whether you work in an office, a hospital, a school, a shop or from home. A symptom-at-work diary, an accommodation ideas list, printable conversation script cards and a ready-to-fill request letter help you go from coping alone to agreed support.

Do I have to tell my employer I am going through menopause?

Is this course legal advice?

No. It explains the law in general terms so you feel confident asking for support. For advice on your own situation, contact your union, your human rights commission, a community legal clinic or an employment lawyer.

Will this course tell me whether to take MHT?

No. It explains the main options you may hear about, so you can have a good conversation with your family doctor. Decisions about MHT or any other treatment are for you and your family doctor or pharmacist.

Can my employer buy this course for staff?

Yes. Employers can buy seats for staff as part of a menopause support program. Each learner's diary and letter are saved privately to their own account and are not shared with their employer.
