How a course works

Four steps, at your own pace, on your phone, tablet or laptop.

  1. 1

    Choose a course

Pick a topic and level. Every course page lists the modules, the tools you get, who the course suits and anything to check with your family doctor, nurse practitioner or another health professional first.

  2. 2

    Learn in short lessons

Read a few minutes at a time. Your place is saved, so you can stop for school pickup and carry on later on another device.

  3. 3

    Use the tools

Fill in trackers, meal planners and checklists as you go. They save to your account, build into charts and download as PDFs.

  4. 4

    Get your certificate

Answer at least 7 of the 10 final questions correctly to download a certificate with its own verification ID.

Learn it, then use it

Lessons link straight to a tool you can fill in on the spot: a meal balance checker after the Canada's Food Guide plate lesson, a label comparison worksheet after the lesson on the Nutrition Facts table and the "High in" symbol, a sleep diary after the lesson on sleep habits. Your entries save to your account and download as PDFs.

Questions people ask

Who are MyNutriCare courses for?

Adults in Canada who want practical, trustworthy help with everyday food and wellbeing: people who want to eat better, parents and parents-to-be, women in midlife, family caregivers and anyone building healthier habits. No prior knowledge is needed.

Are the courses based on Canadian guidance?

Yes. The Canadian edition uses Canada's Food Guide, Health Canada advice on pregnancy and infant feeding, the Canadian 24-Hour Movement Guidelines and Canada's Guidance on Alcohol and Health. Food label lessons cover the Nutrition Facts table and the front-of-package "High in" symbol, and help sections point to Canadian services such as 811, 988 and 911.

Are the courses medical advice?

No. The courses are general education about healthy habits, based on Canadian public health guidance. They do not diagnose, treat or cure any condition. If you have a health condition, are pregnant or take medicines, speak to your family doctor or nurse practitioner, midwife, pharmacist or a registered dietitian before making changes.

What are the tools in each course?

Each course has its own interactive tools, such as trackers, meal planners, checklists, plate builders, shopping lists and question sheets for appointments. Your entries save to your account and download as PDFs. See all the tool types.

How long do I have access?

You pay once per course, in Canadian dollars, and your access has no time limit. There is no subscription and nothing renews.

Do I get a certificate?

Yes. When you answer at least 7 of the 10 final questions correctly, you can download a certificate of completion with your name, the course title and a verification ID. It shows you completed a general education course and is not a professional qualification.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, in most cases. You can have a full refund within 14 days of purchase if you have completed less than 20% of the course and no certificate has been issued. Any rights you have under your province's or territory's consumer protection law are not affected. Our refund policy has the details.
