About this course

Packing a lunch every school day is a small job that adds up to a big part of your child's diet. This course shows you how to build balanced lunches using the Canada's Food Guide plate, pack the right amount for your child's age and cut back on sugars and sodium without a battle.

You will learn why food comes home uneaten and how to fix it, discover ideas beyond the sandwich, choose better drinks and snacks, and read Canadian labels in seconds. We also cover keeping lunches cold and safe, choking safety for younger children, allergies at school and how school food rules and programs work in Canada.

By the end you will have a 4-week lunch plan, a shopping list and a simple prep routine, built with the interactive lunchbox builder, planner and checklist. The course is for parents and caregivers of school-age children (about 4 to 16) and is written in plain, practical language.
