About this course

Perimenopause and menopause affect a large part of the US workforce, often at the peak of their careers. Yet many people struggle in silence, take time off or leave their jobs because they do not feel able to ask for help. Managers are usually the first point of contact, and often feel unprepared.

This practical course gives line managers, supervisors and HR teams the knowledge and tools to help. You will learn the basics of menopause and how symptoms can affect work, and how federal laws such as Title VII, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and the Family and Medical Leave Act, along with workplace safety rules and state and local laws, apply in general terms. Then you will practice a supportive conversation, choose accommodations that fit real jobs, including frontline and shift roles, and draft a menopause policy.

It is designed for organizations of every size, and works well as part of an employer pack for all managers. A manager checklist, printable conversation guide cards, a workplace accommodations list and a policy starter template help you put it into practice straight away.

Questions about this course

Is this course legal training?

No. It explains federal law in general terms so managers understand why menopause support matters and when to ask for advice. It is not legal advice, and state and local laws vary. For specific cases, speak to HR or an employment attorney.

Can we buy this course for all our managers?

Yes. It is designed to be bought as an employer pack. Each manager works through the course and their tools in their own account, and the policy starter template can be used by HR to draft an organization-wide policy.

Does the course give medical advice about menopause?

No. It gives managers basic, accurate information from US health agencies so they can understand and support staff. Managers should never diagnose or advise on treatment. Staff should be encouraged to talk to their doctor about their health.

Is there a course for staff who are going through menopause themselves?

Yes. Our Menopause at Work course is written for women managing symptoms at work and asking for accommodations. It works well alongside this manager course as part of an employer package.

What do I get with this course?

6 modules with 18 short lessons (about 2 hours in total) and 4 interactive tools, including the Menopause-ready manager checklist, Menopause conversation guide for managers and Workplace accommodations list for managers. Your tool results save to My Progress. A 10-question final check ends the course; score 7 or more for your certificate. Price: $24.99 (before any sales tax).
