Menopause is when periods stop for good, and it is usually recognised after 12 months without a period. In the UK it most often happens between 45 and 55. The years before it, known as perimenopause, can bring changes to periods, sleep, mood, memory, temperature and the bladder long before periods end. NICE guideline NG23 sets out how the NHS should recognise and manage menopause, and it says women over 45 with typical symptoms usually do not need a blood test.
Our menopause courses are educational. They explain what NHS and NICE guidance says about options such as hormone replacement therapy (HRT), cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and lifestyle changes, so you can have a clearer conversation with your GP or pharmacist. They do not recommend a treatment, and no food or supplement in them is presented as a remedy for symptoms.
Practical help runs through each course: symptom trackers that build a picture over several weeks, meal planners that follow the Eatwell Guide with attention to calcium, vitamin D and fibre, strength plans, and letters and scripts for asking about workplace adjustments. In England, an HRT prescription prepayment certificate can reduce what you pay for HRT items; prescriptions are free in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.

There is no official menopause diet in the UK. The NHS advises a healthy, balanced diet, weight-bearing exercise and enough calcium and vitamin D, which the nutrition courses turn into weekly meal plans.
