About this course

Packing a lunchbox every school day is a small job that adds up to a big part of your child's diet. This course shows you how to build balanced lunches using the Australian Guide to Healthy Eating, pack the right amount for your child's age and cut back on added sugar and salt without a battle.

You will learn why food comes home uneaten and how to fix it, discover ideas beyond the sandwich, choose better drinks and snacks, and compare products in seconds with the Health Star Rating and the nutrition panel. We also cover keeping lunches cold and safe in Australian heat, choking safety for younger children, allergies at school and how school canteen and lunchbox rules work.

By the end you will have a 4-week lunchbox plan, a shopping list and a simple prep routine, built with the interactive lunchbox builder, planner and checklist. The course is for parents and carers of school-age children (about 4 to 16) and is written in plain, practical language.
